Our Goal for Extended Community Outreach ("On the Rural Road Again")
A new goal of the museum is to acquire video presentation equipment in order to take our rural story, new official video documentary and our official "Valentown" song to other local area communities where we can present face to face again - now off site from Valentown Hall. The immediate goal is to present to underserved communities such as the elderly, infirm and disabled and other audiences who would normally not be able to navigate the actual museum building via an in-person tour.
Work has already begun in-house to develop a slide show presentation for mobile presentation, and is expected to be available in the fall of 2022. Our fundraising is to purchase the equipment that will enable us to present off site and our goal is to reach $1,500.00 for an HDMI/network enabled HD long range projector, a museum owned laptop & software, microphones, speakers and a large video screen. This equipment would give us everything we need to be able to present at Valentown and anywhere else, from outside venues to cafeterias and inside auditoriums. (Ironically, past limitations to provide face-to-face presentations created the need to turn to technology in order to continue our correspondence and educational programs, and then technology in turn will become the means by which we can return to and extend our in person presentations!)
If you would like to help us achieve our goal, please consider donating to our "On the Rural Road Again" Community Outreach fundraiser by going to the link below and scrolling down to the bottom of the page.
As always, thank you for your interest and support!
